For a thousand years, people have reported feeling better by meditating but there are few systematic studies that quantified stress and how much stress changes as a direct result of meditation, until now.

This article seems to be directed mostly at preparing personnel and preventing PTSD. I guess this is a great idea. But good luck trying to convince a whole lot of soldiers, first responder's etc., to do some yoga on a continuous basis.:)
 
But that article was not talking about yoga, as far as I am reading?

Meditation is more about mental exercises, and so multi modal. And: physical exercise, martial arts, breathing exercises, and so on, as well as problem solving ARE quite meditative things, the same principle.

Something these people would be doing on a continuous basis... already... as a core part of their jobs.
