Romans 12:9-21New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)
Marks of the True Christian
9 Let love be genuine; hate what is evil, hold fast to what is good;10 love one another with mutual affection; outdo one another in showing honor. 11 Do not lag in zeal, be ardent in spirit, serve the Lord. 12 Rejoice in hope, be patient in suffering, persevere in prayer. 13 Contribute to the needs of the saints; extend hospitality to strangers.

14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them.15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. 16 Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly; do not claim to be wiser than you are. 17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all. 18 If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. 19 Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave room for the wrath of God; for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” 20 No, “if your enemies are hungry, feed them; if they are thirsty, give them something to drink; for by doing this you will heap burning coals on their heads.” 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Sing praises to God and to his name! Sing loud praises to him who rides the clouds. His name is the Lord— rejoice in his presence! Father to the fatherless, defender of widows— this is God, whose dwelling is holy.
Psalm 68:4-5 NLT

Psalm 91:14-16 New Living Translation (NLT)
14 The Lord says, “I will rescue those who love me.
I will protect those who trust in my name.
15 When they call on me, I will answer;
I will be with them in trouble.
I will rescue and honor them.
16 I will reward them with a long life
and give them my salvation.”
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Has the Lord rescued you from anything lately?

Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord.
Ephesians 6:4 NLT
----------------------------------------------
Happy Father's Day, all you Dads!

Psalm 121
A song for pilgrims ascending to Jerusalem.
1 I look up to the mountains—
does my help come from there?
2 My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth!

3 He will not let you stumble;
the one who watches over you will not slumber.
4 Indeed, he who watches over Israel
never slumbers or sleeps.

5 The Lord himself watches over you!
The Lord stands beside you as your protective shade.
6 The sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon at night.

7 The Lord keeps you from all harm
and watches over your life.
8 The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go,
both now and forever.

New Living Translation of the Holy Bible (NLT)

"Forsooth thou shall make a good frog droplet for if thou does not, thou shall get a plague of frogs and they shall be of the junior welterweight division and they shall hideth under thine bed"

Even a Christian can laugh about his religion and at himself ...this is not blasphemy in my eyes, but rather a use of the good sense of humor that God, the Creator has given me.... besides I am making fun of the 'old wording' and not the Lord.

"This is the day which the LORD has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118:24

Thank you Heavenly Father for this day and for my silly, but loving, sense of humor.
Amen

@Lionheart777, Amen, Brother! I think God has a sense of humor too, and I have experienced it in my life so many a time that I cannot count. There are just so many little "twists of fate" that occur that have to make you laugh. Sometimes we don't laugh when the thing occurs, but when we look back on it, we lose it completely, and so does the person you tell it to, if you do.

One such time is when my husband was suffering from a massive stroke and was well into the stages of vascular dementia. He was not himself, by a long shot anymore, but had become this person I was trying desperately to take care of. He was in a wheelchair and was very frustrated with his life. He actually, with what witts he had left, was praying for death to take him. I was not Amening his prayers, but I was not fighting them either.

One day he needed his urinal emptied. I was in the process of washing the dishes and did not want to get my hands dirty, so I asked him to wait a minute. However, he was on a diuretic and needed to go RIGHT THEN. And his urinal was FULL. So he, in frustration, hurled it at me and hit me in the back of the head with it. He then had to wait for me to clean up the mess, change my cloths and then get it for him. Neither of us was pleased, to say the least.

However, these days, many years after his death, I can look back and have a laugh at this rather unusual moment in my life and his. He was not often violent during his final days like this, none the less, then and a few other indidents finally made me place him in a nursing home. I did not want to do so, but his Dr. had been recommending it for a year and a half. I really had no choice. He was becoming dangerous to me and to himself.

They took all his money, all our money, and I ended up homeless for 3 years until I got my Disability. This was a turning point in our lives, to say the least. However, I don't regret it, as it is during those 3 years that I came to know the Lord for real. I thought I was a Christian before that, but I KNOW that I am one now. I did not know the Lord personally back then when he threw that urinal. I do now. During my homeless days, the Lord performed so many miracles in my life to keep me safe. Being homeless and begging in the streets is a dangerous thing to do for a woman, believe me! I am lucky to be alive.

The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.
2 Peter 3:9 NLT

The Lord will work out his plans for my life— for your faithful love, O Lord, endures forever. Don’t abandon me, for you made me.
Psalm 138:8 NLT

“The human heart is the most deceitful of all things, and desperately wicked. Who really knows how bad it is? But I, the Lord, search all hearts and examine secret motives. I give all people their due rewards, according to what their actions deserve.”
Jeremiah 17:9-10 NLT
