What are your Christmas Traditions. I'd love to hear any and All ideas.

We give the kids new jammies that they get to open on Christmas Eve and wear to bed that night.

This year I might wrap up a new movie, pop corn and juice boxes and make a Christmas Eve tradition.

What are your traditions??

some of ours are what leads up to Christmas...... driving around and looking at the lights..... making cookies.... although not a lot because it gets crazy..... buying a gift for a needy child.... dropping off things to the mission for those in need. My old things can be new for someone else.....
going to a nice spot somewhere with some hot chocolate and just admiring the sites.
Reading Christmas stories.....
And each year I listen to a song that is not at all about Christmas but it reminds me of why we are here. It's called, The Gospel according to Luke, but Skip Ewing. It puts me in the right frame of mind.
My friend has a socks box. She wraps a shoe box lid and box separate and each year fills it with socks. The kids are now adults and love it!!

Another idea might be to try to incorporate something from your heritage. I'm a mix of a lot of things but It's nice to research the different traditions from around the world. It's also nice to share those traditions with your children. You may keep some and discard others but it's something the kids could help with.

Being safe and together and grinning at the beauty of Christmas trees.

Also connected with a lot of candles / lights around, & following up on Hannukah. One of Jewish holidays we both hold, for I'm not even sure shared reasons, but I don't think God would mind the eventual difference.

We always do something for a charity ie volunteer to walk the dogs at the dog rescue centre, take food parcels to the local animal shelters.
My parents pay for and cook xmas dinner for people that are on their own that attend their church and me and my partner and siblings will help serve the food and play hosts. We all take it in turn each year. The guests make a donation which is given to oxfam.

On a more selfish note, we always have a takeaway on xmas eve in preperation for the endless amounts of boring turkey, beef, potatoes, yorkshire puds and veg we will consume over the xmas period.

We do the lights and what not. We buy food for the local food shelf as well.
I didn't raise mini me to believe in Santa, (it's part of a bigger picture thing of beliefs), so every year we spend the day after Thanksgiving until Christmas watching a Christmas movie a night (which is a big thing, because I don't allow electronics during the school week). Christmas Eve we go out and volunteer at the church, we listen to music and turn on our cities and candles, snuggle and read.
Christmas Day I hide her stocking and I line little presents in a trail from her bedroom to find her stocking. We do blueberry muffins every holiday morning.
I have never got on well with Christmas, even before my traumas it was such a hard time of year for me, so getting back into it as a parent has been hard. So firmly believing in consistency and routine has come up with some fun traditions.

I love the idea of new jammies to wear and a new book every year. I love donating to Oxfam, though I am pretty sure you had told me you did that MC x
