Hello there
Tonight is the peak of the Geminid meteor shower in the Northern Hemisphere. I love looking at the stars.
Yesterday night the sky was very clear and as my partner and I drove home from our day out, he asked if I would like him to stop so that we could look at the stars. So we stopped in the middle of the countryside and parked by the edge of a field. We stood looking up at a dark sky, littered with thousands of silvery speckles. It was beautiful.
There is something about me being outside and just observing the majesty of the natural world. Whether it's wildlife and its natural behaviour, the sound of leaves on the tress, the sparkle of the stars or the ferocious storms battering our coast line. I get so much from these experiences. I reconnect, ground, become inspired.
I am going to get in the car shortly and drive out to somewhere without light pollution and watch the meteor shower. I'm sad my boyfriend isn't around to share it with me, but I feel well enough to do this alone today.
I wonder if any of you feel like this with the natural world?
