Oh, Alby, I want to be where you are. I am learning to set boundaries, and not see people as good or bad, and I want to get better now, lol. I think I'm going to print your post and put it in my journal to remind myself of where I'm going.

I could see in my yoga instructors eyes her pain when she talked to me. I also realize now she could see my pain.

I focused on birthing during yoga, exhaling when stretching. Also she wanted us to feel when we touched something and to feel safe.

As we went through the hour, I noticed how unbalanced I was and how I didn't feel like I was at center any more. I've been a martial artist since I was 15 and I've never felt so off balance, I hope this helps and I can see it helping.

I'll ping her on Facebook and see if she can get me the items you focus on. I still recommended a yoga class with those things in mind.

So what this has become is an exercise in the end of my patience.

•"Why don't you love me"
•"Everyone has experienced a trauma or series of them and has had to make the choice to let it go and get over it. You're not special and there is no special treatment possible for you"

I am f*cking bewildered. My efforts to understand me and the true core challenge are intangible and there is nothing I can do to make it tangible and legitimate.

@dreamsofmydeath

Wow. Really? Such harsh words! I understand that most won't be able to understand what we deal with on a daily basis, but at the same time they have NO right to discount our experiences.

Yes. Because everyone has their first sexual experience at the age of four. Or has seen their best friends killed in action just a few feet away... I could go on. Yes, everyone experiences these types of trauma.

Hi!

I really like what @change said. I think it can help a lot. Great list Change.

those I really expect support from.
If you are able to share then who are these people and what is it you expect from them?

One of the most damaging things I find is to expect people to understand that don't have the capacity to do so or worse who become angry at being faced with any of it.

What are the type of things you discuss with them and the types of support you expect from them? Have you tried setting boundaries with these people and what has that looked like? Not surprising I guess as my childhood is part of what I am attempting to recover from.

For example any hint of a discussion with my family about anything I am struggling with will be met by criticism, put-downs and unhelpful pressure. I am now fairly good about never going there with them as it is not good for me in any shape or form.

Also when it comes to PTSD I think it is a rare person who has the capacity to understand enough. Goodness, the professionals see to struggle enough even don't they! :(
