[Tornadic Thoughts]

Woke to 57F and lots of rain at 6ish this morning. Currently, at 6ish this evening, it's windy and 36F and is gonna keep on dropping.

Oh ugh.. sigh... 45 - 47 C (113 - 116 f) 34 C overnight - an uncomfortable night.

Extreme fire danger, smoke haze, heat haze then incredibly strong winds and swirling gusts and now in the distance, raised dust. The sky is an ominous dirty salmon pink instead of blue..

Load shedding for electricity has begun & some big industry users have shut down. Constructions site's are shut down.
Power outages are already happening. They are rolling through in two hourly blocks but nobody knows who will be next.

I keep getting warnings on my phone & the telly that we need to keep reading warnings for updates.
I'm not in immediate danger but I have lots of bushland around me and I keep watching the trees bending with the winds...it's a spooky day.

Thank you weather gods. A hard day in sunshine was desperately needed.

9c today, still rainy. It's always rainy where I am, its renowned for it.

We had a summer a couple of years ago that literally lasted about 2 weeks, it was cloudy & rainy for the rest of summer.

The fog is lighting up the night almost as well as snow.

Life in the city.

Well. Near the city. Ish. Close enough to grab the light pollution if not a bus. Or takeaway.

Oh bring it on!! But not really... because:

Today is a lovely 36 C with a light breeze and the sky is blue!!

But there are still lots of fire's just not near me right now :)

This will be the first weekend since x-mas, if not before, that we have not had rain. It was cold today, but clear and sunny. I'll take it. (as if I have a choice)

Cold here, no rain though. I have to get the outside chores done before the rain starts again in a few days.

The sun came out again today :eek:

The Lake was so perturbed it threw up a wall of steam, which coalesced into a 20 meter high fog bank, churning and rolling in palest blues and deepest whites, as impenetrable from a distance as glacier... to protect itself from what was clearly a. giant. ball. of. fire. coming straight for us... that no one else seemed to be taking seriously. :shifty: Just standing there. Blinking and squinting at oncoming disaster. Moles to the slaughter.

We can thank The Lake for our continued existence. It’s quick thinking postponed Armageddon once again. First by saving the seas from boiling, then extinguishing the fiery rain as it fell; by sacrificing wisps of it’s own shield, sacrificing it’s own safety, so that we may live.

Don’t worry, Lake. Your heroic deeds of this morning shall not go unsung.

The off key part, is just kind of suck it up and deal with it.

And, word to the wise, you’re gonna have to up your game if it starts raining frogs.

Very mild day. Breezy 34 C overcast on some aspects of the horizon but generally bloody great day compared to what has come before. :)

7a.m. 14F and snowing. It's so boring compared to @Friday's weather. :D
