Today it's well on the way to a top of 40 C and it's only mid morning
The sky is a angry grey & red belying the heat
Severe & damaging northerly winds - up to 100 km/ph or more
Code red fire danger - alert (the highest alert possible) for 2 States
Smoke & dust in the air
Thunderstorm asthma event alert
Cool change expected to blow in late afternoon but no rain.
So a hamburger with the lot today. :cautious:
Edited to add: I've lived a fairly long time now and today will go down in my history as one of those bad days. I'm not injured and have suffered no losses to my home or vehicle. So I'm very lucky. But my nerves are so shot. I've spent the whole day cowering from this crazy weather. The sky is a deep red/purple bruised colour and now I'm receiving alerts for severe thunderstorms and lightning. There is no rain in it so nothing to wash away the heat, dust & sweat.
The forecast for tomorrow is lovely. :) lol

We've had a couple of days of Chamber of Commerce weather here - clear blue skies, lower humidity, and temps in the mid 70's (F). It's going to get cold again this weekend for a night or two - down into the 40's. No, no, no! Blood is too thin for this!

Thank every star. My hair’s been wet for over 2 weeks. Came within an inch of shaving it all off last night, but the idea must have scared the weather gods into some wind and sunshine. I’m not a pretty sight with hair, and without is somewhat worse, but I didn’t think I was that bad. I’m trying to be offended, but I’m just too damn grateful for the chance to dry out.
I wonder if a reverse Mohawk might provoke a snowstorm??? :woot:
On consideration? I don’t think I’ve got the balls for that. Mohawk I might pull off, if I lost a bet, but I really can’t take even the idea of a reverse seriously. If the top goes? It all goes. Pity. I like the snow.

Can still smell smoke whispering in now and again... and apparently there remain fires to be dealing with but not within my alert radius today.
