Current Weather

Yeah... sending you some soup too Friday. I've got a pure wool skin onesy? Sending that too....

Today as forecast, it's frickin freezing. Well relatively so given that it's about 12 c (f 53.6) So not actually frozen hmm...

Grey sky and cold air. But nothing else. Thanks @Ronin we'll take all you have to spare. :)

Oh wow @LuckiLee - I've got identical weather here but without the wet bit. :cautious: :hilarious:

I put my summer doona & sheets on my bed last week when it was 45 c (113 f).

But how silly of me.

Now, because the bottom has dropped out of the thermometer, I've thrown a big fleece blanket over the top of that summer doona and am wearing two pair of flannelette p.j's with woolly socks. (yes I'm a sockee sleeper)

I cannot be stuffed having a fight with my winter doona to put a fresh cover on it and dragging out my flannelette sheets and remaking my whole bed....again!

So apparently we lost August which is traditionally our wind month and it blew itself right into mid November & now December.

Therefore today is blowing a gale again - cold out of the sun but nice in the sun when it comes out from behind clouds which are never, ever going to drop one tiny skerrick of moisture on us.

Meanwhile back at the ranch.... there are oh about 100 bushfires still burning.

Invisible rain.

Can’t see it. Walk outside? No drops hit, but you’re still wringing out your hair and sloshing your clothes onto the floor, and kicking them into the bathtub to deal with, later. Climb under the blankets and listen to the gutters sound like 80’s toilets flushing (IE enough force and volume to send medium sized satellites into orbit) as water roars through them. Like snow melt. Sans snow. IDFK where all the water’s coming from.

Can’t see the rain, but man oh man, sure as hell can hear it.

As pregnant a pause, muffled silence, as the first big snow... sans snow.

I’m detecting a theme.

Snoooooooooow. C’mon ya big damn fat flakes, and closed roads, and awesomeness. Getcherass down here, already. (Most of our winters it doesn’t snow. Not here in the lowlands, anyway. Just a few hours up the mountains, might as well be a million miles away without a car. Might as well be the moon.)

Looks like we got another 5 or 6 inches of snow last night. That would be on top of the foot we got the last weekend in Nov. And then, the highs the next few days are supposed to be right around 0 (F).

The snow piles by the sidewalk are already higher than the dogs are tall. The Rez dog thinks this is great fun. The Bulldog seems to think it's ridiculous. I'm with him!
