Sufferer Damaging Ocd Behaviour

Hi!

I found this topic because I was searching on "compulsive"... I have not been diagnosed with OCD (as far as I know, actually my I have never asked what my official diagnosis was, don't even want to know).

But it's very recognizable. I am tense and clenched up most of the time (probably 80%!) and I have a few very annoying behaviors... : when I was a kid, I used to bite my fingers until they bled, but I managed to quit. But soon I replaced that with biting on my inner cheeks -to the point where those bleed, too. Then I have this thing where I scratch or rub my face and my shoulders all the time, making my skin problems worse (I still have some acne, even being twenty-five...)

There's other stuff, like in the shower I wash my hands everytime I have touched the shower knobs. I do that frequently to adjust the temperature... somehow I just don't want to touch the knobs and then touch my own skin, without washing my own hands first... it's pretty crazy...

These things are all pretty compulsive, but the scratching/biting/gnawing thing is absolutely the worst, and it is very compulsive (as in: there is no way I can stop it). I found out about this one method, where you bounce a piece of elastic against your wrist, which gives another sort of pain that will make it stop, but only for a few minutes. I totally ruin my face, and my teeth (but for my teeh I went to the dentist and got this protector which makes it impossible to bite... only frequently I don't even want to wear it, because my brain insists that I must keep on gnawing...)
