I have dissociative episodes quite frequently. They have been happening for years, and I can't even remember when they started or whether I was bothered by them when they did start.
I don't have a problem with them, they don't freak me out at all. I see it as a way of coping with the world around me, and I tend to use them as a way to observe the 'outside' world from a 'stranger's' perspective, as if I were not human at all.
As for the feeling that even I don't exist - sometimes I find that it is easier to 'not exist' in the sense that there is no pain, no feeling.
