Xander,
I think your response was to another thread. I didn't see this one until I read this thread. Sorry but answering when the question is placed elsewhere makes it tough to discover.
I went into computer science in grad school mostly because I had a job as a manager in the field. It has done me well except for the outsourcing now that is ruining the jobs here in America.
After a lot of living in the camouflage of civilian life, I finally crashed several times and was diagnosed in 1997. (I could give you the exact date but it doesn't matter.) I am now married, happily pretty much, and nothing disrupts it other than the lack of sleep which brings on the problems. I was injured like many here and am on a high dosage of gabapentin and other drugs for keeping the beast at bay in a panic situation.
You say you are taking Oxy, Klonapin (Clonazepam) and Seroquel. That is a heavy combination. Both Oxy and Klonapin are addictive. One is codeine based; the other is a benzodiazepine. The latter, especially when combined with alcohol, is very addictive and can cause some serious depression itself. Seroquel is also a pretty heavy sleep aid. I would not go over the prescribed amount. Some people have been very successful with it. Others, well, went off the deep end.
But your doc has prescribed them for you, so he/she feels you need them. I have taken some of the same drugs you have and my experience in general helped initially but over time, it was really hell when I started some sense of stability and tried to get off them. I take lorazepam (another benzo but lighter) when absolutely necessary.
