Do People Fake PTSD?

My ex boyfriend used to accuse me of faking my PTSD, just so I could receive Disability benefits. He would threaten me that he was going to call the Social Security Administration and "report me" for faking it unless I stopped doing something he didn't want me to do (breaking up with him, for instance).

I actually reported his threats to them, basically warning them that I was breaking up with him and he was threatening me with this. They assured me that this info would be on my record, along with all my medical reports that were proof that I was not faking it.

I don't know if he even knew what PTSD was, or even believed it was possible. All I know is that he raped me, and that his refusing to take NO! for an answer was indeed rape. I did not report the rape, as I know how hard it is to prove these things and what the cross examination would be like, but I never stopped believing that he indeed did rape me.

Being a mental health nurse I see many a person faking having a mental illness or a physical illnes...

I have a brain injury was hit with an ax broke my temporal bone severed my 7th and 8th cranial nerves so now I have hearing problems, ringing of the ear, facial Paralysis , Vertigo, Epilepsy , memory problems and PTSD I receive Veterans Compensation and Social Security now do I disgust you cause I was a solider who was robbed my plans were to become a Cop after my discharge never happened now I live off disability
