I know it sounds superficial and all fake. I never used to believe in this stuff until last year when things in my life exactly what it said in that. I know it sounds rubbish but that's what I felt, it was all about my luck and time.

How about the horoscope compatibility ?
- for example, there are people you always have clash with, is it related to their signs being different than yours?

What about relationship compatibility?
- can some star signs never be together?

This question came out of curiosity and to be in reality check. How true is all this information?
-I didn't believe it until the very end of last year and only checked things about my past 3 years last year where the information about my depression, trauma and domestic violence was written in my horoscope. It stated how I will fall into my traumatic past and how I will be striving hard to discover myself and learn to accept myself and not let the inner-critic take hold of me.

So please present your views if you are interested in this.

Yes.

But it depends.
I don't believe in your everyday-free-paper style of horoscope, or the kind of horoscope that people sometimes give on TV. Where there's a lady dressed funny and you can call in, and she'll tell you if you're gonna get married or die tomorrow.

However I do believe in astrology. I do believe that the planets, and their position, have an influence on our lives.
How can they not? The moon has an influence on us, so why wouldn't the other planets? We're not detached from the rest of the universe. Some horoscopes, based on serious study of astrology, do create enormously accurate profiles that can be a big support.

You will never know. It's like saying: there's life after death because I had a life-after-death experience. You can say that, and you can believe it, but there are other explanations: it might be the mind creating illusions, bla, bla. So in the end you can believe in something, but you will never be able to prove with accuracy that you are right.

Was this a personal, written just for you, horoscope, or is this one that applies to everyone on the planet you share a starsign with? You seem to be basing this on one occasion where the information seemed to fit your situation? - What about all the times it didn't?

Personally, I think people read what they want into these things. If they want it to fit, they will find a way to make it fit. My answer to your questions would be no.

I don't believe in horoscopes, but I think the subject is interesting. I've read somewhere that as much as 25 % believe in astrology, so you're not exactly alone in believing in it. I guess the most common critique is that horoscopes are so vague and general that it can apply to almost everyone. Domestic violence as in your case was very specific though, so maybe you're not talking about the general daily horoscope in the newspaper?

I've never understood exactly how people assume it works though. And I don't mean this in a derogatory way at all, but out of curiosity. Cause as far as I've understood horoscopes are based on the position of the stars and planets on the day of your birth, and that this will affect a persons life, relationship, economy, personality etc. for the rest of his/her life. And someone must have interpreted this, and based on this interpretation one is then able to predict how people born in a given month will live their lives. I guess I just don't understand how this can be credible. Like, who interpreted that if venus is aligned with the moon it means that relatinships and self-esteem is important this month (random example, I don't know much about astrology), and how can you know that this has been interpreted accurately, and isn't just random?

In short: Do I believe that the universe affects me? Probably, but not in a way we'll be able to understand and describe in detailed systems. Do I believe that the alignment of the stars and planet can say something concrete and specific about my life? No, but I understand the appeal in it.

Agree with @FridayJones

Newspaper and magazine horoscopes are generally rubbish because they account only for the star sign on a particular day. Real astrology is far more complex, and I do "believe" in that...as much as one believes in something that just is. Have you had a personal chart done for you? Usually this requires the time, date, and specific location of your birth, and an experienced astrologer who can do the calculations of planet alignments, etc. I have a family member who did chart for me, my kids, my husband. I was skeptical, then amazed at how insightful it was.

But Astrology cannot predict the future, in my opinion, at least. Think nature/nurture; predestination/free-will; fate; etc. We humans look for answers in the either or so often, but the truth is generally pretty subjective and lies in the in between areas.

I believe in people who believe in horoscopes, as in at times they have interesting observations about people, no matter they arrived at it while observing dates of birth and what not.

And I believe in empowerment of people, no matter the excuse. (If someone picks astrology to let people know they should help their lives? Because 'the stars' wish it so? More power to them.)

Do I believe in horoscopes: no, not one little bit. They can be entertaining, though, and allowing yourself to immerse in them in a what if sort of way is kind of fun. But no, just no. If they're true then the world is a completely different place than I understand it to be.

My mum is a firm believer in astrology (not in horoscopes). She was recently very poorly and the nurses asked me to compare how she was at that time, to her normally. This was easy to gauge: "Has she asked you what your starsign is yet?". When the answer was no, it was obvious that things weren't right!

According to mother your starsign determines your instinctive reaction/response to things (on the assumption that nothing significant has 'reprogrammed' you over the years).

I do believe there is something in it, but I don't live my life or run my relationships based on it.
