Find this interesting, I really put myself on the line financially to afford a reduced price T. I know that in my country even though it is a fairly wealthy one that the public mental health services are atrocious. You really are taking your life in your hands with them, and many do.

What do you opt for, and why? You can give several responses if needed

Other - None of the Above... Self study, research, experimentation, talking with others / peers.

Why? First time I did this I didn't know this was a "this". I didn't know it was PTSD, just knew I was FUBAR. I didn't like who I'd become, or what my life looked like. So I set about changing it, bit by bit.

I learned later it was PTSD I'd been dealing with. But by then it was past tense. So this time, when the shit hit the fan? I tried to be smarter about it. Desperate as f*ck not to go back to how bad things were before, poured on the research, trying to find help, find answers, find better/smarter ways to go about shit. Fortunately I found this place. Which has been unquantifiable, beyond helpful. Unfortunately I also found that my area has zip for resources in the areas I need help with. By the time I'd opened up my search parameters to include anywhere within a day's drive? (Took me about 6 months to exhaust local possibilities) I was also broke & without a car. Shrug. Life happens. Managed the train for a bit, but scraping together money for train fare & counseling & losing a day in travel time just was supportable even in the short term, much less long term, with no income. <grin> So it's self study, research, experimentation, & talking with others who've walked this road.

I get help in Fridaysector.

But prior to that, my search was more successful in private sector and NGOs of the public one.

People were able to address a lot of my trauma & behavioral issues without naming it as PTSD with enough common sense pointers and with far less judgment than specialists I've contacted after.
