Do you get nervous before seeing t?

it took me 5 years to get over the jitters well then 18 months off - LOL.

That's the life of trauma therapy...I just can't seem to trust people. It's real hard for others to pass my litmus test - obviously have much work. Lets see, If I space out my therapy to monthly I get three weeks to chill and one week to worry, fret, get all anxious and only couple nights of losing sleep.

I don't think I can go more than monthly. But when I was in that black hole, I had to go twice a week or lose my mind.

Thank you for the breakdown @Friday . You are so knowledgeable in this stuff (mind me asking if it's your profession?). It really helps knowing more specifically about the functioning of the automatic and how the sympathetic fight and flight response can interrupt parasympathetic functioning...ie vomiting, diarrhea through passing out (hope I have all that right). That actually answers a question I had some time ago where these three specific things happened at the same time. It was really scary for me at the time.

Understanding these physiological responses is somehow validating.

I do wonder how my rarely occurring vision loss could be due to the Somatic Nervous System (conscious movement). Unless psychosomatic relating to somatization is different. Eyesight doesn't seem like it should be a conscious process??

Anyway I'm probably making no sense right now....thanks again friday

Psychosomatic symptoms are a thorn in my side. I do identify with the nausea and feelings of suffocating (shortness of breath) severe abdominal pain. I also experienced two separate episodes of cardiac arrhythmia (SVT) and stayed overnight in the hospital. I once suffered severe depression and lost 30 pounds in 3 months (I just absolutely had no appetite and experiencing severe PTSD symptoms at the time). Feelings of dizziness and yes, losing my vision occurred and I was prescribed ergot-amine sublingual tablets. I was losing central vision and seriously had difficulty driving. After 5 years of therapy, these symptoms have abated. Thank you T and thank you Lord.
Daily exercise was a serious remedy as well.

When the body is stressed, the hypothalamus signals the autonomic nervous system and the pituitary gland and the process is started to produce epinephrine and cortisol, sometimes called the "stress hormones."

I do have some experience the healthcare and truly believe in therapy. I am also religious and truly believe the Lord helps me and gives me strength and keeps me believing in ...
