I agree. Most people are overwhelmed with themselves. With or without mental illness. Those ones that learn the path of empathy, and quit the hardest addiction of them all, self pity, go on to help others like themselves. And of course, know when it won't work. In this age, it's so hard to believe in the power of giving.
