some of your anxiety is based on the concern your escape from what sounds like an ugly situation may be thwarted.

what i tend to do is use the continual rumination about something ugly and turn into affirmative action. I don't mean against the situational irritant but turn your anger into detailed planning. it is the uncertainty of a clean getaway that will be causing agitation. Think of every thing that could go wrong and devise a plan with multiple options. Your stress will reduce as when a fear arises you can calm yourself with a plan.
