Just had my hormones tested after experiencing a variety of menopause like symptoms in the past two years. My hormones were basically in the same range as a postmenopausal woman. My doctor thinks that my ovaries gave up on themselves as a result of being so stressed out, possibly being poisoned as a child, or hemochromatosis (I'm Irish, but my ferritin was only 170 ng/ml + she has yet to test my TS% and HFE). My liver enzymes were about five times above the normal range a few weeks ago, but I think that's because I had a can of tuna. I avoided seafood entirely for five weeks and they back into the normal range. Got tested for PCOS and came back as negative. She doesn't want to put me on HRT. Still waiting for my adrenals and antiovarian antibodies to come back. I guess this means my family can no longer blame my symptoms on my teenage hormones!
Have any of you ladies here dealt with an early menopause as a result of stress and/or PTSD? These hot flashes and memory lapses are driving me nuts. :coffee:
