I am praying Evie's surgery goes well, of course I will keep everyone informed as I will likely be talking over the phone to my husband daily.

Enjoy your time alone. I'm lucky to get an hour alone in the house a week. I don't know what I'd do with a whole week! LOL Enjoy that extra sleep. And if you start talking to the goats, don't worry. They won't tell.

Gotta watch them geese. They tend to run off at the mouth. *grin* Sometimes I talk to my animals like they're human. My old dog will sit in the kitchen, with her head cocked to the side and listen to me rant and rave sometimes. At least someone listens attentively in this house! :biggrin: My cat, well...she's a crabby old broad. Must be why she and I get on so well.

Thank you ladies. Yes Marlene I am not certain either what I am doing with an entire week! Talking to the animals and working in my garden will be a big part of it! I will try to enjoy the serenity Jodee, however so far it has seemed unnaturally quiet as I am used to teenagers and babies and assorted people being around. :wink:

I spoke with Jim yesterday evening. Evie had a bit of a breakdown last night. She was happy to have the surgery initially, however now as the date approaches and she has had the first several pre-assessments, she is afraid it seems. Thankfully Jim convinced her to go ahead with the surgery, she NEEDS to have it, as there is that slight possibility the polyps are cancerous. We would much rather she go into surgery willingly than with Jim having to force her.

Additionally she feels homesick for the farm and is dealing with more difficult and confused feelings regarding the "family secret" we have shared with her. I am relieved Jim is with her, he is very good with her, very calm for the most although he nags too much. :rolleyes: He mentioned they would be going to the cinema this afternoon, to see a Harry Potter matinee. That should be pleasant for Evie as she loves Harry Potter.

Oh my yes Evie is a huge fan of Harry Potter, the books and the movies. Unfortunately she was not able to see the film today, as she spent a large portion of the day at the hospital and is now tired. They plan to try going again tomorrow.

I just completed my nightly talk with Jim over the telephone. Today was rather tedious. The pre-assessment clinic took over 6 hours, during which Jim and Evie mostly sat in waiting rooms. Luckily Evie brought her art supplies along and was able to do several sketches whilst waiting. She is creating some personalized avatars for individuals here and something else for the PTSD Shop I believe, so that is keeping her occupied. She was disappointed, as the hotel they are staying at has a lovely pool, however Evie is not permitted to go swimming. There is a video game hookup in the hotel room however; so she may play her precious video games! We shall see how tonight is, I do hope a repeat of last night's anxiety attack does not occur.

I think she will do just fine. I'm sure there has to be a lot of anxiety on her part, just knowing it's another surgery. She has had so many.....No it doesn't get easier. It just plain sucks... She is a scrapper though and just keeps on going. The energizer bunny maybe????

6 hrs in a waiting room.....They have more patience than I do..... I would have been climbing the walls.....

Thank you for asking Jen. Jim and Evie are in the city this week as Evie has surgery on Monday and several tests as well as her treatments this week. I talked to Jim about an hour ago. Today was very quiet, no doctor's appointments, so Jim and Evie stayed at the hotel. Evie slept most of the day, she was having trouble staying awake. That is a bit of a concern, however it is likely a combination of anxiety and the cancer.

I will be joining Jim in the city on Friday. Evie is going to be admitted to hospital that day, that is her treatment day and she will need to be under observation to make sure she is ready for the surgery Monday. It is not common to have surgery whilst also having chemotherapy; in fact normally it is not allowed. However the surgery is to screen out cancer, so it can't be delayed. It is a bit of a worry, is she strong enough and so on. Last surgery she had an unusually large amount of blood loss.

So, Jim and I will have our weekend in the city afterall! :wink: Hopefully, if all goes well, we will be bringing Evie home Tuesday or Wednesday at the very latest.
