It was 14 F. here this morning. However, the night before, the Full Moon looked awesome. I wish I could have snapped a pic of it, but I was in someone else's car and when you have to mooch rides all the time, well, asking anything of your hosts is out of the question. The moon had all these clouds nearby it and it was lighting them up.

The wind is howling and it's been pouring rain and dark and cold and wet! This would depress a hyena. I don't this the sun came out once this week. There were a bunch of surfers out this morning perfect little waist to chest high waves. 52 degrees. I miss surfing. I'm exercising a little at home again feels good l. We haven't been walking but there is good news, a walking track is open at the High school I didn't know they we're doing it, no dogs allowed. Plus it's going to be lit and open at night. I have to tell you though it's one of the windiest places anywhere, there is a windmill there lol. Still I'm kinda excited, tentatively. : )

We tried the walking track but I think the beach wins. : )

Way down the beach in that last photo is the light house, I love snapping pics of it as it flashes which requires a little luck and timing. The cameras are so good in the phones it's like a miracle when you think back about the "Kodak instamatic" lol. Dropping rolls of film at Walgreens which we did for years when we were first married and the kids were little.

We had a couple nice walks this week and it's hopeful even though the weather gets bad we can keep going if haltingly. The beach gets cleared of snow below the high water mark so even with snow on the ground you can do it bit some days the wind is really bad and you'd have to be dressed like for an arctic expedition.

I'm carrying a baton which is a weapon. I hope I done have to hit anyone's dog with it but I feel much more secure and like if it was ever a charging or biting situation I at least have a chance. You do NOT want me to hit you with that thing. I'm thinking most dogs even if they charge with lots of yelling and waving the baton around will take care of it. If push comes to shove and it's a question of getting a bite for my daughters or myself?

I feel bad for the nice dogs and their people who are usually nice. Isn't that funny how nice people equal nice dogs so much of the time?

I do feel safer though and since the baton telescopes and I can sort of walk along snapping it out and waving it around like practicing and I thought a couple people realized what it was and moved to keep their dogs clear and under control, which they should do anyway. Lol. Should do.

Yesterday was cloudy and threatening rain but it was in the high 50s which is warm. The tide makes beautiful patterns on the beach, ways interesting, always different.

Beautiful @Mach123 .

Hey Mach, hope you don't need to use it, but just a thought, if in that spot, try saying first, "Hey? What's up there? Hi!" with a calm lilty curious voice if a dog charges, And square your shoulders. Most dogs aren't aggressive just threatened, and will be content to leave you alone too (JMHE :notworthy: ).

Happy Thanksgiving! A lighthouse with light, lol! I'd be there every chance I could, if I could. (if I was there the neighbours would see me in my PJ's, parka and with cofffee in hand, a lot  .) :)

I used to walk in a little park close to where I lived years ago. It wasn't quite developed in that area other than existing in the middle of corporate mecca. So, no one much was out early in the mornings until, this man decided he'd drive over to let his dog do its thing and then run around without a leash. Said pup ran over, barking and snapping, and circled me so that I'd have to stop. Plus, the guy nastily instructed me to stop. Huh?! I was afraid of it even though it was a Sheltie. Hey, they bite too. Plus, it was triggering as I'd had encounters with big dogs when I was little. I understand. I thought about it every morning I walked over to the park, which stinks. Carry the baton. If nothing else, it might give the idiot owners a message to leash their dogs.

Also, love the pictures! When I lived up that way, I was a lighthouse chaser. My partner and I got off the beaten path many times, wandering around back roads on the Cape to find them. ha ha

I hope you have a blessed Thanksgiving with your family! VB

Yes the dogs. It's a total PTSD thing for me like almost everything. But it's a terrible problem and a horrific safety issue. I think shooting at a dog that's charging me would be fair play. Older people, people with small children, people who have smaller dogs that they keep on the leash. Nobody has any rights to walk. It's a disgrace.
(Not triggered or anything lol) I could call the police but my freeze reflex won't let me do it. It's really awful because I relive my trauma if I let myself dwell on it like I'm.doimg now lol.

I yelled uncontrollably last time it was really embarrassing. At least I didn't swear or say anything unkind. (it was a woman)

Oh sorry @Mach123 , I think it was a misinterpretation. There are times it can be a good distraction (albeit not ideal) for a dog.

We are all human, I wouldn't automatically assume the woman over-thought it, she would expect you to be potentially startled or scared.

Sorry if I offended you. :(
