I've been working sporadically as a "floater", or on-call fill-in driver for an auto parts delivery company. Well, i finally got a regular position with this company, at one of the best hubs EVER! It only nominally triggers me, the work is easy, the days are short, and i don't have to do a lot of face-to-face interacting (I spend most of my time driving instead). Most of my customers are cool guys, and I have a couple of favorites that i flirt with a little bit when I deliver orders. I call it "improving my social skills", while my customers call it being personable and pleasant. Since I'm now in really good therapy, and on good meds as well, I think there is a chance that I might actually be able to keep this job longer than 6 months!

Just wanted to let you guys know that if you just keep trying, eventually something will come along that you can deal with. Never give up the fight to find what works and helps you get ahead!

If you had your dream job, the best deal ever, what would it be and why?

Hello Eagle3 -

Rejoicing at your new job - Hope that this job helps you gain more and more stability in your life. And you are right about not giving up -

Well, for me the best job would be one where I can work on myself and continue healing and conversely be able to help others to be the best they can be.

Keep up the good work - Laurie

Hey eagle, really well done. As I was reading your post I could feel your excitement and I was smiling reading it. What an achievement , keep smiling and flirting lol and enjoy, deal with the symptoms of PTSD as they occur but you will be fine. Well done

Congrats!!!

Mmmm... Dream job. 6 months traveling the world, meeting new people, seeing new places, feeding the elephants child, running out of stamp space on my passport, melting into different cultures. And 6mo at home shoring up relationships, maintaining ground, being solid.

The job itself matters not so much. The dream-job aspect of it would be maintaining my favorite kind of lifestyle. Travel + Home Base. Balance.

I am so very happy for you and thank you so much for sharing your experience and advice. I will soon be looking for a job and I am feeling afraid of getting out of my comfort zone, but you have so inspired me and given me real hope.
