I an officially done with the first round of competitions, what else to say. Getting to next level, country level in about a month, but with the little preparation I had I managed to be among the best in country on the first level. 2 to go...

Unfortunatelly my perfectionist isn't satisfied with the baaad score of 96% on physics, while in many other schools, top was 70%... I hate myself for that.

Well, thats all I had to say... Also had a mild panic attack during competition so accidentally skipped a part of question :( saw the SAW...

WOW! Awesome score! Keep talking to that perfectionist. You did a super job on the physics. It helps if you can be specific... "I really understood..." "I thought I might not know the answer to... but I worked at it and I got it right." Observation statements that can't be argued with (without be delusional or lying) are often a way in.

You got a 96% because you were having a panic attack and missed a question that you misread because of it?

Uh, Otakujome, mere mortals can't do physics AT ALL when they are having even the mildest of panic....You might want to mention to that perfectionist voice that you really really appreciate it trying to help you out with accuracy and all, (and you do...) AND there are other things that need attending to from time to time as well...

Although I'm #1 in county... On English I had only 77% ... :( It hurts so much...

I need to find way to deal with my perfectionism, it destorys me...

I dealt with the worst of my own perfectionism (and still deal with what's left) by competing against myself. 100% is both "necessary" (usually) and bores me*. 96% means I have a challenge. I have room to improve. 4% to attack.

* When everything is 100%, aka gets boring, I start aiming for different percents. 70% 82%. Trying to land exactly where I want to.

Mmmm...I know this is nothing to joke about...but MATH is infinitely better than english! Gah! Nerds rule the world. I know a guy who is a millionaire after selling his company. He can't spell worth a crap. So many people from different countries who can't even SPEAK english are thriving with their computer/math/physics career. I think your English is just fine. hmmpfh. *hands on hips*

@Nam, as an English major and someone who's an utter failure in Math...I have to stand up for my discipline!!!... though you are, of course, right :laugh:

@otakujome Perfectionism is...well...Let's just say I've done that dance and have never won...I tend to self-sabotage...Long story. Anyway, your English is on a pretty high level considering the fact that it's not your native tongue (it's not mine either), your age etc. Also, keep in mind that it's more difficult to master a language if you don't live in an area where it's spoken (as the main language). Having said all that, one way to improve is to keep in touch with native speakers, and also to read in that language. If you don't have access to books in English, I'm sure there are sites where you can have access to literature in English (I think Project Gutenberg was one...) Oh and great job on physics and math! :tup:

@reallydown

My english (by the test score) is on level C.1, also, the comission evaluated another point (after showing dysgraphy papers). So now I'm at 47 points. Going to county level (best in country had 55 points, and I'm second best in county, best in county is 48 pts.). I did quite well compared to rest of country. Languages are great, I'm just trying to plan life with quite a few options. So

1. physics/math/informatics
2. Languages(planned at least 4, got 3 atm)
3. Music (french horn and singing)

Yep, sums up my carrer plans by priority

@Ms Spock
Me sorry, but only virtual disco partys, my people skills are really bad, today the whole bus was laughing at me :( I can't enter the outside world... I'm afraid of failing... Abandonement...
