Oh, I see. Sorry that I misunderstood. I get it now. My first answer was about freeze reactions, and not about dissociation and flashbacks. Dissociation is not my coping style during therapy, so my knowledge is insufficient to have an opinion if it is right or not for your therapist to bring you back to the present all the time. The staring is intensifying your emotions sure. When does one stare at something? When one is afraid? Does she always stare? Best to tell her. I know that feeling of the freak show lab experiment, without a staring therapist :cool:
