Flies Want To Live, Too!

Am I nuts or do flies know when you are planning to kill them? We get so many flies in the house this time of year... just now I was in the kitchen getting a snack and three flies were buzzing all round being annoying so I decided to get out the swatter. Lo and behold, as soon as I did so the flies disappeared! This is always happening to me! Are flies really that smart?? It's like they hide when you go get the swatter. I'm seriously starting to think they know you're trying to kill them!!

I've often wondered the same thing about mosquitos (AKA the state bird of Florida LOL). They buzz around and annoy the crap out of you until you pick up the magazine to smash their little blood-sucking heads in. Then they vanish. That is until you put the magazine down and go back to whatever you were doing.

I'm sure both flies and mosquitos want to live...want to do a lot of things. Thing is, you buzz around me and you're marked for death.

Hahaha, Lisa, the mosquito is also the "state bird" of Minnesota. You are so right how how annoying they are. Now, they're dangerous, too. There are a lot of cases of West Nile disease up here in the northern Plains.

I think you are on to something there Evie.

We keep 3 fly swats in our dining area within reach & every time we go to reach for it they fly away.

Hmmmm maybe we should apply for a research grant & travel the world to see if this is a common problem!

OMG Jodee that is such an awesome idea... we could go on a big trip around the world for FREE haha! Research grants have been given for stupider things! ;)

Very true!

Then once we have found a place where the fly population is low we can set up a PTSD retreat because I know that flies drive hubby nuts.
That's got to give us a bit more money for the extra research we need ;)

Come HERE! We don't have many flies or many insects at all. I think they all get blown out to sea lol. You'd have to put up with winter, though.
