Fml. i'm not even functional enough for a day program.

Also sometimes churches will have people volunteer to drive others to medical appointments. I did that driving in college. We were out in the country and the hospital with specialized treatment was over an hour away. Helped with beer money as I got a $5 tip most trips. It's a thought. I completely get not being able to get ready for and drive to program.
 
Is there somewhere you could stay overnight?

My last T was 5 hours away, and while most of the time I liked that it gave me time to collect myself on the 5 down, and settle on the 5 back... During insomnia jags I had to get pretty creative. Either head down there the night before, or just stay over if they were back to back appointments. His office was in a city, so if I didn't just want to hang out in my car -or at the train station, if I didn't drive- I had a huge range of options. I could pay $10 to stay at a hostel, or sleep for free at the university library / gym/ mall/ airport/ hospital.

Being rural would limit options, but maybe there's somewhere closer to the clinic than your home & less expensive than a cab?

If not, what does the day program suggest?
 
I slept barely enough to be functional enough to go today. I met with my coordinator as well. I can't get transportation where I am right now but I can get it after I move in another few weeks, which is good. It's almost midnight and I'm exhausted so hopefully I can sleep and make it in again tomorrow.
 
So sleep can be hard especially when there is pressure. I have suffered severe insomnia but did not give up my job. I almost went on medical leave during the time I was only getting one hour of sleep. I did still drive but I was really wired, wide awake.
My boss said to me when I finally told her about my struggles, "Come teach anyways. Even if you are so tired and ill. Even if all you do is put a video on. This is your community."
That helped me immensely. I was able to practice acceptance for all the ways insomnia effected me. So, I am happy you went because you slept just enough that is great.
There are lots of things you can do for sleep. If you are interested I can share them with you, but I don't know if that is what you would want right now.
