Hi Anna, yes, part of it is my age . However, there is a real need and if I have a bad nightmare I have wet the
bed :notworthy::oops::speechless::(. It has only happened once, although there have been a couple of near misses. So whenever I wake I have to go just in case.

But with age my bladder ain't what it used to be and if I need to go I need to go NOW

(((((Anna)))))

Yes, I have struggled with this for years, though much better lately.

A by-product of the hypervigilence that doesn't let down even in my sleep. Though, meditation helps, as does physical exercise.

I would recommend ruling out any sleep disorder like sleep apnea, and/or high blood sugar for possible diabetes. Both conditions can lead to frequent urination during the night.

Definitely agree with the above! Especially if this a new occurence. It is easy to get accustomed to 'blaming' all symptoms on PTSD, depression, and/or fibromyalgia. But, changes need to be mentioned to your doc.

Well, just because your doc won't refer you doesn't mean it's not apnea.

My husband's doc resisted, felt like "everybody thinks they have sleep apnea...:" Had to eat his words after the study came back, said that was one of the most severe cases he'd seen!

Night sweating, frequent waking and urinating -- both signs of apnea along with the snoring. Which, by the way, untreated can be hard on heart and organs, as well as dangerous drowsiness during the day and driving. Not something to ignore.

I know. :<

Wishing I had the several hundreds of USD to go myself. Insurance won't pay a dime nor for any treatment unless my 'gatekeeper' oks it.

I guess I deal with it by just telling myself I'm lucky she's finally accepting my T.'s diagnosis of PTSD...sort of.

I used to urinate 30 - 40 times a day and did not know that this was abnormal until I mentioned it to a doctor who informed me that I have an irritable bladder. I am on medication for it now, but I still wake up 3-4 times a night to pee, even though I try to limit my fluid intake before bed. The only real problem this has caused is me bumping into the wall, as I try to enter the bathroom while I am mostly still asleep. lol :p

Wow, guess I'm not alone here either..LOL!

My doc picked up on my low oxygen level last year after a couple surgeries. I had to keep the O2 on more than normal in the Recovery Room. I didn't know my many trips to pee at night were a symptom Sleep Apnea.

Did an overnight Oximetry (measures O2 saturation, less expensive test) later and discovered my level goes down too much at night. No apnea, just low O2. Wearing O2 at night has helped SO much! I'm dreaming again, and wake more rested!

There are medications that help reduce the frequency. Of course, that can cost a LOT of money!

If it is a new symptom, then certainly get it checked out.
