Frustration

I used to do a LOT of driving. I talked a blue streak so bad it scared friends who would ride with me. Seriously evil and vengful crap. One day a friend made me aware of it. Now I try to be the passenger as much as I can and I focus on the window to my right. I get worked up just watching others. I worry about my kids being safe and I am glad my wife is a very cautious driver. The streets are pretty rough for driving even in the little town I live in. Tourists are the real problem. When I had my Scout NOONE f*cked with me. Big rusty steel bumpers that spell doom for all the rice rockets and wanna be's. Those trucks dont even dent and the other car/truck/jeep is a twist of junk. Scary and Nice.

Rarely drive myself these days, but when I do its all no rush, plenty of time to get where I am going, But you allways get one f*cking idiot who thinks he can drive, and needs to tailgate.

I have a 4x4, no bumpers, just solid chassis, and raised5", but it doesn`t stop them

3 year ago on the way home, I lost it with 3 guys in an Alfa Romeo, who had been tailgaiting me for miles. As I pulled of the road onto my land, they got the usual Brit thank you with 2 fingers.

So they started gobbing off, and actually stopped.

Big f*cking mistake. I shoved my Defender into gear, swung her round on my field, and hit them right between the front and rear doors, to make sure no one could get out, and pushed them into a ditch.

I just totally lost it. Ended up in court, with the DA wanting a minimum of 6 months nick. My lawyer managed to get us to 14 months no licence and 1500€ damages. Because as it had been raining and the road and field were still wet, there was no way I was going to stop a 2 ton vehicle. After all it was all by accident. ;)

Not long after that, I hit rock bottom and ended up in a Clinic.
Yeah, I have gotten to where I don't drive much anymore. It is hard for me not to be a side-seat driver, but I am working on it. I just try to not watch. lol

I can relate... that's why I took up golf.
The clonking of the balls on blue hair's heads is my best form of therapy.
Laff and the world runs for cover.haha

I am hearing you there mate. I get dangerous at times, will be driving along and all of a sudden I am off with the pixies and not concentrating. I get the wife to drive if she is with me, but sometimes I think I should get a second brake pedal in the car like a driving instructor. I swear she thinks she is in a race car.. f*ck me....

Absolutely no driving for me. 11 years now.

Mainly because I end up with only two speeds. Speeding maniac and Stop. Both are angry and offensive to others.

all of a sudden I am off with the pixies and not concentrating.

That expression just made me laugh. No matter what laws they pass they really can't make people just concentrate on driving.

Luckily I drive a cargo van. It's a big blue box that's built like a tank. It's slow like a tank also. Maybe it's me. Driving is probably the closest we get to being back in combat. You never know what's going to happen next, you've got to constantly watch your 6, and even when you do some numb nuts is going to come out of no where to mess with your day. Sound familiar.

I just try to relax, put on some classical music, take my time so that I can get there. If there's someone behind me is chaffin' at the bit, I pull over and let them pass. I've had a couple of very dicey road rage incidents with the cops involved and I don't choose to repeat that. I think Wagon's got the right idea.

There is a downside. You have to live in a city to manage that. If you call this living. But I need noise too. Country side way too quiet. But the city has noise I hate as well. Bloody princess and the pea here.

Well I'm off to take my scheduled walk. Maybe I'll bring a ball or stick to chase after.

Yeah, being in the city would allow you to take advantage of public transport. Just not a city guy myself. I lived in Philly for a while when I was going to art school and I was amazed at how quickly I adapted to it all.

Still prefer the country. Now I kinda' live in between. Small town that's like a suburb of Philly more and more. Of course it wasn't like this when I moved here 30+ years ago. It's still fairly nice. Although I'm still too close to people.

Maybe we can help Wagon. Rather than fetch your own ball we could all throw some rocks?
Poor wagon lives in a town stuffed with blonde Amazons. Why dont I feel sorry for him? lol
Keep trying wagon... Even a blind squirrel....

wow that is a good statement.. for me it puts me back in an ambulance screaming in at 80mph zigzagging around the fools.. it was almost like flying a jet, check your six... 360 degree awareness... and if you begin a maneuver carry through with it because if you hesitate you are definitely the next casualty..

Oh and I live in Houston, it is just behind LA in rush hour terms... Off Road Xterra trumps a BMW everytime...
