I've been wanting to do this forever - start a challenge thread or something that just has people who have anxiety disorders or problems be given challenges to confront them.
I make a lot for myself, but it isn't as fun without other people...
Here are my challenges for you guys (the ones I checked are ones I've done):
1. Give a random homeless person food - Yes, you have to approach them and offer some food. This will really push your comfort zone. √
2. Take the local transit system and sit next to a stranger.√
3. Start a conversation with a stranger on the bus/transit system and have it actually develop.
4. Do something completely crazy and would make others go "WHAT?"- What I did was jump on a greyhound bus randomly at 5 AM and travelled 200 miles from home then travelled back. THAT was interesting...
5. Find all the geocaches in your area (Google geocaching if you don't know this)
6. Take a picture of all the local bus stops.
7. Take up the most random hobby/class I can think of and then join said group/class
8. Write down what you can't do - say f*ck it and do it anyways until you can do it. You can't get any worse.
9. Write down the names of all the TV Programs you watch - anything that keeps you attached to the boob tube, not including documentaries about science or history (be honest about what you think is educational - finding bigfoot or American Pickers is not considered an educational series, in all honesty. Neither is Star Trek) - putting each name on a separate piece of paper. Put these pieces of paper into a hat and shake them up take out one (preferably you want to get rid of at least 2/3 of your programming: this show/type of programming you can no longer watch and must find something else to do with your time, or watch documentaries. √
10. Take a taxi and have a good, charismatic conversation with the driver.
11. Take a picture of 10 random people and ask 10 questions about their live - make journal of people you have met.
Anyway, here are a few to get you started. Please, give me some of your ideas for challenges!!! I need them!
Some of these really helped me branch out. It brought out "the old me" sometimes or just helped me get my thoughts straight. Hope it does the same for you.
