New Here
I've been wanting to do this forever - start a challenge thread or something that just has people who have anxiety disorders or problems be given challenges to confront them.

I make a lot for myself, but it isn't as fun without other people...

Here are my challenges for you guys (the ones I checked are ones I've done):
1. Give a random homeless person food - Yes, you have to approach them and offer some food. This will really push your comfort zone. √

2. Take the local transit system and sit next to a stranger.√

3. Start a conversation with a stranger on the bus/transit system and have it actually develop.

4. Do something completely crazy and would make others go "WHAT?"- What I did was jump on a greyhound bus randomly at 5 AM and travelled 200 miles from home then travelled back. THAT was interesting...

5. Find all the geocaches in your area (Google geocaching if you don't know this)

6. Take a picture of all the local bus stops.

7. Take up the most random hobby/class I can think of and then join said group/class

8. Write down what you can't do - say f*ck it and do it anyways until you can do it. You can't get any worse.

9. Write down the names of all the TV Programs you watch - anything that keeps you attached to the boob tube, not including documentaries about science or history (be honest about what you think is educational - finding bigfoot or American Pickers is not considered an educational series, in all honesty. Neither is Star Trek) - putting each name on a separate piece of paper. Put these pieces of paper into a hat and shake them up take out one (preferably you want to get rid of at least 2/3 of your programming: this show/type of programming you can no longer watch and must find something else to do with your time, or watch documentaries. √

10. Take a taxi and have a good, charismatic conversation with the driver.

11. Take a picture of 10 random people and ask 10 questions about their live - make journal of people you have met.

Anyway, here are a few to get you started. Please, give me some of your ideas for challenges!!! I need them!

Some of these really helped me branch out. It brought out "the old me" sometimes or just helped me get my thoughts straight. Hope it does the same for you.

Hey,

What a cool list :D Love it! Plenty of stuff on it I'm really scared of doing.

I just wrote a thread on going skydiving, but for me some of your challenges (like take picture of 10 random people) seems even scarier! One challenge I have set up for myself this fall: volunteering at ACE Arizona. I live in the Netherlands, so it's a big step. On the other hand, I'm kind of short on money, so that might be a valid excuse...

I have heard friends about this geocatching thing. Seems cool, I think I'll try it.

Wow, that is impressive! Now, that sounds scary to me... I hate falling ha ha.

Geocaching is definitely a lot of fun, and I love doing it with my dog. We find ourselves in the most curious places. Also, the above challenges sound scary, but can be a lot of fun once you finally do it. Make sure to post about your first geocache adventure :)

Might try Geocaching myself, never heard of it before :)

I wonder if they have karaoke where you are? could you sing your favourite song? ;)

Or

compliment five random people on their clothes/hair :)

or

ask five random people if they like something about you (like your hair colour, new dress, smile) i.e 'excuse me I would like your opinion, does this dress look good? ';

or

write a short story and submit it to a magazine :)

or

write a poem and read it aloud to someone. :)

or

volunteer for a day (whatever charity or environmental support you choose) :)

or

ask five random people if they can recommend a good restaurant and discuss with them what they like about it :)

or/then

arrange a dinner party for your friends or family :)

Not sure if this helps at all. :0

best wishes and keep us posted :)

Saffy :)

Thanks for the reply! I really appreciate someone adding challenges. Some of those look terrifying to me. The singing thing is probably NEVER going to happen. I sound like an experiment gone wrong for a war weapon meant to make everyone around me go deaf from the absolute horridness of my singing, ha ha.

I'll definitely get started on some of them. Hopefully others will take part too.

If anyone has anymore or is doing one, feel free to add your ideas and stories.
