.......and, of course, VISA, Mcard, AMEX, and the banks who directly profited off of this slave trade will not EVEN be questioned by LE, let alone charged.

.....and why aren't ALL of the individual states filing charges?

btw, Bpage has been doing this with impunity since 2004.....how many sex slaves in 12 years? over 800 cities? how many child prostitutes in 12 years?

a minor slap on the wrist is all he'll get.......when you make millions of dollars/month you can afford good lawyers

I don't remember which ones but some of them already refused payment to backpage. Thing is, when payment goes through does it say what it's for?

Power Play

As a third perspective, I'm pretty bummed, myself. Backpage was well known in certain circles to be very Law Enforcement friendly, and actively helped track / monitor the dark side of this business get the underage & unwilling out of being trafficked. Rather doubt that huge ally is still one after this mess. Nor will any of their competitors be exactly keen in letting the police data mine their records looking for trafficking & CSA victims.

When you have countless avenues for pedophiles & f*cktards to operate out of? Going after one of the few that actively assists law enforcement? So classically has "Politician" written all over it.

They've been trying to shut down the sex for sale part of that business for years. Thing is the owner of backpage made 90% of his money off that. He had to be stopped. There was no way around that. It was also the most well known.

Here's the updated story.

"Backpage.com advertises a wide range of services, but the California arrest warrant alleges that internal business records obtained through a search warrant show that 99 percent its revenue came from its adult services section between January 2013 and March 2015. California officials said the site collects fees from users who use coded language and nearly nude photos to offer sex for money."
