Other Has anyone here also expercienced ramsay hunt syndrome?

I wanted to know if anyone else here has gotten Ramsay Hunt Syndrome as a result of their PTSD and the extreme stress it brings on the body?

In case you have not heard of it...It's rare. Most people and even doctors have not ever seen it. Anyone who has had the chicken pox can get it but most people report they were very verstressed before the onset. For me, that stress is related to PTSD. That's why I ask.

I think its important that PTSD suffers know this is possible if the PTSD goes on and on. This stuff is nasty folks. My mental illness is now attacking my body. Yikes.

HOLY SMOKES!! My boyfriend has this...the VA told him it was shingles, but I googled it and he has it in his face and all of his symptoms are that of Ramsay Hunt Syndrome...not just shingles. And he gets it off and on when he is stressed out more than usual. Weird.:speechless:

Thank you for speaking up. I didn't know if I was the only one. I still have symptoms. initially, the entire left side of my face was paralyzed and I could not close my eye or barely speak, it was nasty.

I still have it, though the paralysis is mostly gone. Deaf now in that ear mostly. My RHS symptoms come back when I am stressed too but the root of the problem is surely my PTSD. I am hoping that EDMR will help reduce the stress on my mind.
