Wow. This is not quite the welcome I expected at this website. I am surprised and concerned, Anthony, that you, as a moderator, would have such a limited knowledge of the social injustices that bring trauma to many, and that you feel so free in challenging new people on the site.
Joya, I think you have bigger issues at play here. YOU asked me to clarify myself, so I did just that. I used parts of my own life as example to help try and get my point across, as you stated you had trouble answering my questions without interpreting.

Now you go and do the opposite, interpret. Not very healthy IMHO. Instead of clarifying the questions, or asking further, you go on a little mood rampage. Speaks volumes IMHO.

I think the sad thing about the written form is that intonation is missing and therefore a very different slant to conversations can be perceived from what is intended. I think that is one of the most valuable reasons to check on what someones intention is before we get too hurt.

Political ideals can vary a lot and I think that is OK. We don't all have to like others political stances or even predjudices to get support from each other. We can even greatly dislike them.

I hope you stay and get the support you need.

Joya, I hope you stay and find the forum helpful.

I am sorry if my post above caused any upset. My comments on culture were only due to my observations on differences between cultures and conversations with my friends who themselves believed they were not treated as equals.

I agree that abuse to woman is a worldwide problem. It is a horrible and sad fact.

BO, nothing has triggered anything. I am asking questions... nothing more, nothing less. I am trying to provide more information, as per requested by the member, to help get across my meanings for them to provide the answers. They asked, I provided. Then nonsense it seems. Now more nonsense because the member no longer discusses, instead likes others questioning on their behalf. That is called passive aggressive behaviour.

You need to stop presuming BO, as you seem to be doing a lot of that lately.

Well, tbh I think Anthony just wanted clarification. Secondary PTSD isn't a DSM diagnosis so it is natural to be curious about this statement. People come here all the time with incorrect diagnosis'...just look over the intros which state "cptsd"!

I have to agree with his assessment that you came with a slant of your own. You posted about people thinking your PTSD is related to being a man hating lesbian. Sorry to say, but every stereotype has a nugget of truth behind it. Yes, there are women who hate men because they were abused by men. Just as there are men who hate women because they were abused by women. Personally I'm a woman who was molested by a woman, and surprise, surprise, women aren't exactly my favorites.

I hope you stay as this can be a supportive place.

Atta Girl, SOL....

TBH, I have been abused by men and women, and have been kicked by horses, scratched by cats and bitten by dogs.

Therefore I hate all people, I detest animals and wish that all cats would be eaten by dogs, which following should be kicked by horses, and finally the horses should be turned into glue.

There, I hate you all.

(FYI, I'm BI, in a VERY happy straight relationship, I have 4 cats, about to get a dog, and used to own, and adore horses......)

Just thought I'd add some lightheartedness to this thread, as it's looking incredibly formal and I hear, (I think), what Nicolette would call 'rumbling'.........

Joya, give us a nutshell of what happened, as your expansive use of the english vocabulary is giving us all headaches........mainly because PTSD turns most of our brains into jello most days.

We cannot understand what happened, how to support or help you if you give us vague diagnosis with no history and expect support.

Support is never general, and is usually only helpful when tailored to each person, to show that we care about you as an individual, rather as another number in the ranks of those suffering PTSD.

Love and Huggles

Bubzie.

Don't worry bubz... I also discriminate equally. I like people who don't pull punches with their words. Honesty rocks...

I have no issue Joya... I am honestly answering your initial clarification, then bam... you sock it to me. Either discuss, or leave, but don't piss me of please with nonsense.

Ah, I had a damn good laugh when I read that, and yes, from my limited interaction with you, and your participation within the forum, I must admit that you are accurate! :giggle:

Nicolette, I must admit its rather fascinating watching you and Anthony at work, or at listening I should say!!! It is rather interesting watching how people react to Anthony's directness, although I've noticed that some people take it as a personal attack, I may be interpreting wrong, but he strikes me as a person that 'suffers no fool', and as such, a personal attack would be rather special considering the amount of effort it would take!!!

Also, please correct me if I am wrong, but I personally feel that it is healthy for people (or Anthony :D) to ask questions, because to the best of my knowledge, no one has EVER managed to effect a manageable recouperation from PTSD alone, and if left alone, it is a trend of human nature to hold onto that which causes pain/disability because it is familiar.

Frankly, I think some people are more comfortable in disfunction than starting to heal because it becomes part of them, and change is too much to bear, and I know for myself, I can get quite lazy, and use those labels to excuse behavior which is inexcuseable, and something I actually can do something about.

If you want to change, I think you will find Anthony's directness a bit of a hand up from the gutter, but if you are comfortable where you are, and seek comiseration only, you may find it confrontational and aggressive.

Please note, this is not my opinion of everyone, and each person is different, this is merely my experiences through my short life and my understanding of the 'road of least resistance' that human kind seems to trend towards.

Feel free to correct me or point out things you think I have missed, my only goal here is to help Joya and anyone else in their journey towards being the most fruitful and productive person they can be, in spite of their respective hurdles.
