Joya, I read all your posts. To me it seems you are typing posts in anger. I think your trauma is being triggered. It happens when we read something and it seriously triggers us.

I can understand your pain, suffering you have received and been helpless. I am sorry for that. But if you don't share your problem with calm mind, then it will create confusion, frustrations and that won't be helpful for you in the end.

Take some time and then come back. We are here to solve issues and reach healing. :)

I think culture can play a part. In some cultures, the husbands are dominant and the wives are meant to be submissive and do as there husbands wish. You see this in cultures where the wives need to walk 5 steps behind the husband to show respect.

I am certainly not saying abuse occurs in all Muslim marriages, absolutley not, it is just my experience having had many lovely Pakistani friends in school and what I have learned about their parents, their marriages.

Still this is present in India. Many wives bow down to their husbands even they are wrong and it leads to domestic abuse. :(

I have spotted sometimes women do abuse of men due to lack of awareness.

Women, men and society needs awareness.

I haven't assumed, I've stated my assessment plainly and honestly, allowing for the possibility that I was wrong. If I were assuming, I'd say something like "you've gone on a little mood rampage" which is a way of confusing ones own opinion for a fact.
