Death Homicide Anniversary Coming Up

From what you wrote earlier, I wasn't sure, do you know if you're nephew is alive or dead? (Not knowing would be horrible.) I hope he's alive, remembers you, and somehow finds his way home! :hug:

Officially he disappeared. But a 5 year old doesn't just disappear, especially when he's in government care. And especially when he's the only witness to his sister's homicide. He's been disappeared for 14 years. I don't believe he's alive. We were very close, and he would make a lot of noise about visiting me. He didn't show up for a visit when he turned 6, and his SW had no idea he was missing until I tracked her down. They never found him, he was just gone.

:( I see what you mean. I was thinking 'disappeared' in the sense of bureaucracy that wouldn't tell you where he was. The reality of the situation is monstrous. Sorry for your losses! Stuff like that just shouldn't happen!

Hi brokenEMT - I didn't see this thread until tonight, but I wanted to thank you for your courage in sharing this here and send you love and support. It is heartbreaking what your niece endured; you gave her a lasting peace by being with her when she died. Never really knowing about your nephew has to be another kind of hell - sending you strength to keep moving forward.
