Nope! I saw the Purge preview and had a nightmare that England was attacked and my dad died and if a preview does that to me then heck no! I also loved zombie movies so much but I can't watch them now.

It really does depend for me.

If I'm really symptomatic, no way

If it's jumpy, no! God if I'm watchig a film and there's a jumpy bit I literally get air.

If I've seen it before (yeah older style horrors are not as bad) and I'm doing ok yeahs might manage it.

If I'm not very symptomatic and there's no rape scenes then I might be ok.

I used to watch them when I was having trouble feeling anything. When I used to feel numb and basically dissociating before I know that's what it was.

It's not something I'd be like yeah let's watch a horror but if I do it's because someone else wants to watch it and I think I'd manage it. Mostly I watch sci-fi, comic book movies, trashy shit that's easy to mindlessly watch.

Yep.

My favorite genre. Albeit I watch them as detective stories and an exercise in psychology. Also as a comedy. So the horror effect may be lost on me.

That is a big NOPE for me.

I become way too anxious and my OCD and anxiety start chatting on saying that when I go to bed I'll wake up a killer ghost or possessed or a cannibal, or whatever. It's extremely annoying so I don't watch anything scary.

Love Love Love horror movies, except for movies like Hostel and the Saw franchise (they don't scare me, it's just not my kind of horror movie but if I'm with a group of people and everyone wants to watch it, than I'll watch it, not a big deal as long as I don't have to pay for my viewing). I'm more of a paranormal, monster, alien/sci-fi girl anyway. I remember being about 5 years old, sitting on my dad's lap and watching "Nightmare on Elm Street". As a little, whenever we went to the movie rental place, my mom always knew I was in the horror section if she couldn't find me.

i watch them, usually the paranormal type ones. I watch through my hands and usually jump and scream all the way through - i dont know why i put myself through it ?!
If its a film based on a true event then i find it very difficult to watch so often choose not to as they can cause me to have nightmares.
Never ever watch one when im on my own - ever !!:barefoot:
