perhaps you need some emotional break

It's your thoughts or emotions that may be exhausting and you can't acknowledge that.

I'm perplexed and agree. I do need an emotional break. I think my teenager (AD/HD and Bipolar II) and the holidays on top of my on call tech support for a huge IT telecommunications company is overwhelming. I get a break once a week at acupuncture.

I set the boundaries with my quite time but I have no idea how to turn off my thoughts.

I've read so many different way to meditate. I still can't figure out how to turn it off.

So when you say acknowledge what do you mean by that?

By acknowledging I mean take it into account.

Suppose you are thinking on something that can make you angry and when you get angry, take it into account. Having so many thoughts can make you deluded or in denial sometimes. This is the reason why you feel overwhelmed. Your emotions might be getting surged very high and you have no idea what to do with them. Acknowledging can help you to raise your awareness and than can help you to make a choice. So many positive things will come up.

You want to turn off having so many thoughts. You can do it. Start by concentrating on small things and get persistence at it. Remember the more consistence you are with your mind and heart, it will pay off you. Be patient.

Having so many thoughts is very hard challenge. When I came on this forums few months ago, I was having this problem. I started doing exercises, now thoughts have decreased dramatically. It took two months to slow down this all thoughts. I know where you are at.

You will get there where you want to be. Just be consistence in your positive activity. Do you do any activity that can help you feel better?
 
Thanks for that Jaret. I needed to see that tonight. I think I am struggling with too many thoughts at once and am overwhelmned. I am learning so many new things about myself right now. it is a time of confusion and a wondering of I have been under a spell and the spell is now broken. I hope this makes sense.

I processed this a few times.

I think I am not consistent in doing positive activities for myself. I need to work on that.

I'm great on acknowledging what the issue is and finding the root. I'm an analyst, even when I'm not working. I'm always thinking about solving problems.

I need to learn that letting it go thing and working on the positive.

As for acknowledgement I'm keenly aware. When it first started happening - the PTSD symptoms - I couldn't figure out what was happening and I started freaking out on everyone. Five years of therapy later, I stop an think on it. Where is this freak out coming from: this situation or the old baggage.

I got a fraction of the therapy I think I actually needed because until I started researching exactly what PTSD is and how it affects us I was treating it as "my situation wasn't that bad"

Sometimes, I'm not sure either NH.

Do hope something gets figured out and works though for you to keep the new day progressing as smoothly and comfortably as possible for you. Is such a wish coming true possible?

Logic and reason do not always account for outcomes. You will get through this exhaustion, battiness (I see you're feeling batty), and you'll get through your pain as well, ...and with much ahead for you.

((((NH)))) I'm sorry your day is full and you're still up, I know just how badly such a loss of sleep in itself, ...can just plain suck awful.

I hope you can find some rest and sleep again soon, rather then later.

I had crazy dreams about being in Italy. I wanted have my house painted like the Medici's had their house painted and couldn't remember the names of anyone so they all ended up being called phineas and ferb from the cartoon, even looked a little like them.

after waking up and talking to my mate after about ten mins I realized I was mad. I mean really mad. so yeah I have a lot to work out. Not sure what I'm not addressing. I'm mad I'm not figuring this out because I usually can. so thanks again. seeing my psych today.
