How Did You Sleep Last Night?

Dear @Muttly, I too, did and do have many fights with nightmares and great difficulties to just lay down or sleep. I started using nightlights, even though, they're actually meant for children, they give me a great deal of comfort. There's a 20 something cm long plastic ladybug that projects moon and stars onto the ceiling . I also have a smiling little plastic dog on my bedside that works with batteries. And I do have also 4 (cheap) glass fiber lamps, that, when lit look like a thousand tiny colored stars in my room. And of course 2 or three flashlights in my bed. Oh, and we installed a "light-curtain" with warm golden lights. Maybe some of those suggestions could help you find a bit comfort and rest as well.

Slept 8 1/2 hours without any break. Got another nasty all inclusive infection (supurative sinusitis, high fever, massive pain etc). But nonetheless I'm very grateful for so much sleep.

Slept like shit, with a dose of falling asleep at 5 AM in pain and waking up at 9 AM from the pain
 
@TreeHugger thanks for the suggestion. I really should look into getting a nightlight. Part of the problem for me is a lot of the trauma happened in the bedroom and some of it happened while I was sleeping. There are times I just can't sleep in that room. I had some bad dreams last night but not as bad. My back is sore from the couch and life in general though.

I'm sorry you are sick. I spent the last month with some of the same symptoms. It sucks.. By the way, that's the best avatar ever. Wicked cute puppy.

@Saelben sorry you slept like shit and are in pain. Oh, just saw your signature. One of my favorite songs!
 
Slept another 7 hours. Lots of "feever dreams" as we say. And had two determined "hotdogs" to help me keep myself warm... The cheeky one even followed me to the bathroom and back. And as soon as I was back in bed, my little lad snug even closer to by back...

@Muttly, since my mother often locked me into my bedroom at night, beginning at the age of 2 (without any lights, as she tore them out of their wall and ceiling sockets for good. She even tore down the ceiling lamp several times...) I can't sleep in my own bedroom right now. So I put my mattress into the living room in front of the bookshelf. and took all the night lights with me. Maybe google "night lights for kids". I'm positive, that you could find something to help you get a bit comfort and a sense of safety...
 
Great topic! My nightmares are back, coming off meds. Need to see doctors. I have been touched inappropriately by doctors multiple times, have frozen like that abused child, ignore that its happened even while my head is screaming, stop, please just stop. But i continue to answer questions act compliant. i hate myself for not protecting myself. i hate these dreams, I wake up feeling so helpless.
 
I didn't have nightmares or trouble going to bed, but I've haven't had much sleep and I've experienced auditory hallucinations every single night for the past week or so. They last for about an hour each night before bed and I hear entire conversations in foreign languages on top of random mouth smacking sounds. :woot:
 
I've been not taking my anti-nightmare med lately, because I'm not getting to sleep till like 6-8 in the morning, and if I take it then, I'm not good for anything but lying on the couch all day. So I've been opting for the nightmares and waking up just about every hour on the hour. Not fun, but lately, I've been wanting more to have energy during the day to do stuff, and that's been better than lying on the couch all day.

Another work session done, now to transition to days.

Now I have to find an avenue of support, my passive avenues are now in question, specifically my massage therapists who knows what is going on, but I'm going deeper into the well and she may not want to go there with me.

I'm going to ask her Monday just how involved she wants to be, her hands on sessions are indeed my last non medicated comfort zones.

I know now meds are in my future, sooner rather than later, this sucks.

Any suggestions?
