This may sound strange but how do I start trusting that I'm feeling better?
I got fired from my job back in August due to forgetting too many details and being too emotional. I just couldn't get the tears to stop flowing.
Since I got fired, I've gone into therapy headfirst and have joined a group, am swimming and playing my clarinet every day, and am doing yoga designed around those who have experienced trauma.
I'm starting to feel like some of the events I've experienced aren't so emotionally charged anymore. They happened to me, flipped my life upside down, and really sucked but I'm tired of running scared all the time.
How do I trust/know that I'm really getting better; that the old me is really here to stay?
