Relationship How to help my vet cry?

Ugh, this. My experience is with a shitty therapist, though - if a trained therapist can f*ck up big,...
That sux, massively Sweetleaf. Yeah, I think my symptoms are worse than ever after therapy, in a way, but the therapy I'm getting is actually good, I've just been going hard on it. Stirring up the bottom murk.

But bad therapy? Can do untold damage, so yeah, playing therapist with a sufferer is probably going to bite you on the arse.

Better to gauge, with plenty of communication, respect and a transparent agenda, how to create a sense of safety. A sense of safety is the cornerstone of how to repair from this kind of brain injury.

I want to do the same for my vet, but it seems so hard to get those tears out of him.

Why? I haven't cried since I was 7. I had one tear fall once and I was more baffled then anything. What's this? Why does crying matter?

Please leave the healing up to professionals. Please don’t try to fix him. Please don’t be codependent. You are there to support, not fix.

^^^^ agreed 10000%! Make me cry and I think I likely will complete suicide this time! Lots of very strong pain there that will push anyone over the edge. Stop trying to fix and just support! Supporting doesn't equal fixing!
