Yes, I have lived several years with PTSD so transitioning Therapist happens. I found honesty works well with changing therapist for the following reasons:
1) They can reflect and maybe elect to get additional training if they desire.
2) They can add another client to their case load.
3) It leaves the door open in case you wish to return at somepoint and for your new T to possibly give a call for some research to the older T with her case study.
4) Opening up to your T that you are looking for an different outcome or resolution may assist you in clarifying what that might look like.
Not once did those Ts offer anything but positive feedback when I elected to change. May your experience go as well.:)
