New Here
I'm not sure what to say, so I welcome questions. :) My name is Tracey and I am a 36 year old female. I am currently married with children. (This is my third marriage and we'll be celebrating our 8 year anniversary in March)

I have CPTSD stemming from abandonment and abuse as a child, topped off by more abuse, and then false imprisonment during my twenties. I have found it increasingly difficult to function day to day because of the debilitating panic attacks I suffer any time I feel "trapped" somewhere. I also have difficulty maintaining close relationships because I keep people at arms length and tend to trust nobody. My friends and family try to understand, but they just don't get it.

So, I came here hoping to find solace with other people who understand what I'm going through. There's a lot more to my story, but I'll keep it short for now. :) I'm just happy to be here, and have some hope that perhaps there is truly light at the end of the tunnel.

Welcome Tracy, I also hope and believe there is light at the end of the tunnel. I have been coming around here for 4 months and have met some great people on here who have a true way with words and understanding. The stories you might read here are heartbreaking and triggering, but some of those same people have stories of accomplishment and inspiration.
There is also plenty of data pages containing the understanding of what ptsd is and what one can expect from it.
Also the Chat function is a good way to get to know some of the great people here.

Welcome to the forum Tracy. Gamereign pretty well summed up what I would have said. I started with the articles before joining the forum. This really helped me and then getting to know some members. It was the first time in ages that I felt there was finally a normality to me. Take your time to post, it's not always easy and can be pretty triggering.
