Childhood I finally told my mam about being molested as a child.

Today I told my mam that I was molested years ago as a child by our next door's neighbour's grandson. I felt so sick telling her and I couldn't stop crying. I feel so disgusted.

What a brave thing to do. At least it feels that way in my gut. It took me over 30 years to finally share with my mom, but that was after seeing her already not believe my older sister who tried to tell when it happened. I hope yours was respectful in her response, open to receiving the truth and has been comforting you. If not, I'm so sorry. It's so hard to be placed back into the memories of the scene when sharing and trying to work through what happened to us. Please know the disgust rightfully belongs with the assholes who harmed us, not with us. Sending you thoughts of comfort and peace of mind.

I had recently told a friend about a incident with her older brother, it did bring up those feelings again so its understandable you were upset and feeling sick. But it's great you told her, its a good step forward
