Ok
I finally got my Medical Discharge date.
Now I have alot of head of me.
Just under 4mths until the pin is pulled.

So now I have to find out what I am entitled to
I am leaving the ADF with the following

Chornic PTSD with anxiety
2 x chondromalacia patellae aka Soldiers Knees
Degenerative lumbar spondylosis - aka Spinal damage and nerver ending damage.

Currently I am getting 60% Disability with DVA but just applied for an increase in pension.

I would like to hear from anyone that could point me into the areas of entitlements that I might be able look into

Rent Assistance
TPI
Gold Card
Home ownership scheme etc etc etc

As I am Australia my case would not suite the US crowd.
Cheers

Ian

Being a Brit in Germany, I can`t help you Sabre mate.

But congrats to at least getting them to acknowledge you are damaged goods so to speak. Here`s keeping the fingers crossed for you, in that you get what you have paid with your health for.

I sense a bumpy road ahead. sure Jimmy and Anthony can help you out loads on this one.

Good luck mucker

Sabre I am pleased to hear that they understand that they are handing you back NOT as issued.
With that battle won you can concentrate on the fiddly bits, good.

Now to get my paperwork sorted.
Discharge medical booked
Discharge Dental booked
Comsuper Interview Booked
Discharge process started.

Stress levels way above the threshold...

But hey its only going to make me stronger hehehe

not sure if you are aware mate, but get onto CTAS for transition entitlements, speak with your civvie case manager, there will be $4000 in funding for you to go do any civi course you will believe that could help u get a job - regardless if you intend on working or not.
Mates that recently got out after roso got a 10k lump sum aswell - something to do with long service something or other.

DOHAS you need to get signed off on before you leave - once you leave you will still recieve payemnts for X years

TPI - good luck, im going for this aswell, its now called SRDP (special rate disability pension) from all accounts ive heard, DVA are not accepting these, no matter how genuine and the average process time for appeal and courts is approx 2-3 years with a 50/50 chance of getting it.

Gold card comes with SRDP, other wise you will get the injury specific white card

Where did you come from Panda, thanks for the info. I am going on courses real soon to learn about all these new changes. With regards to DVA not accepting SRDP claims, I have just recently heard that they are stamping the majority of them with 12 month waits, hoping they will get better, they still have not learnt.
Its more a matter of proof. Its all about supporting documents. I learnt when I was knocked back the first time I applied. I ended up getting a stat dec from my CSM who was aware of what went on. Then I did the PTSD course which is available. A report from them stating your likelihood of being able to function in society along with reports from hierarchy goes a long way.

BTW Panda, how about an intro from yourself.

mate believe it or not, ive been sittin in an empty house trying to find a forum or chat site for months now... guess I was just looking in the wrong places. relieved that I've found somewhere I can talk to other like minded people.

Thats definatly something a lot of lads do forget. I had to hunt around a bit to get info for mine. Was allready a Mechanic and a Storesman, had all my Driving licenses from Motorbike, to Artic aswell as Cranes to tracks, So knowing what you want is a must Sabre mate.

I ended up sailing 4 weeks getting my skippers ticket for coastal waters. Just 1 month of holidays, on a sailing boat with a skipper and 3 lasses in there 20`s  . ended up moving boats up and down the the south and west coast of the UK

Best R&R I ever had

Hi Guys

Sorry for the long reply time
I have been flat out with work and sick kids

UPDATE TIME

1. I am now 80% disabled lol I mean I have been accepted for an upgrade form 60 to 80% General Disability with DVA.
As this is over 70% they must consider me for TPI or special Rate.
Issue as I am still employed they will not grant me TPI but the good thing is I spoke to them and as soon as I am out TPI will be granted.

2 DHOAS is done and Tier 3 - Issue is the banks will only loan me 280k as I have kids and thus knocks my amout to borrow way way down - bloody sex it leads to having kids hehehehe.

3. Next Hurdle is to aim for a A Pension from Comsuper.

Skippers license very very nice you give me ideas
