I Have Nothing Left

My caregiver of the past 13 years has just up and left. Along with PTSD I also have suffered three traumatic brain injuries, I have never learned even basic life skills she was working to get me a power chair but as it stands I have no way to get outside to my doctor or anywhere else, I don't have the skills to take care of myself and on top of that she left our three dogs and cats with me.

I have called what seems like a million places that offer support and all have been pointless some even accused me of lying because according to them I must have family or friends who can help and since I am disabled I must have support for that well I don't. I have nothing, I have nothing left. I can't take care of myself and I don't know what to do.

I am so sorry. What a terrible situation to be in :( to lose your care giver of so many years, and your dissability on top. I do know what it's like to feel hopless and helpless. I know what it's like to reach out for help, and nobody is there, or willing to. T's terrible you are being left alone. And to be called a liar on top of it!

Can your doctor not come out to see you? I would hope he would come out, and give you some help. Is there anyway to advertise for a new carer? Do you have citezens advice where you live?(cant.see your location on my phone sorry, may just be a uk thing) They can be pretty helpful. They can give you practical advice over phone or email. Maybe they can even come out to see you. I'm.sure there are similar alternatives where you live if not.

You definitely need help asap, and I wish I could be of more help for you. Remember there are helplines out there. They WILL listen to you, and give you emotional support. Don't be afraid to reach out. You haven't had luck yet, but there are people out there that are willing and happy to help.

Thanks for the kind words. I spoke to the social worker and he said my only option is to go into some kind of home so I guess that is it.

I didn't feel too happy about it that's for sure, I ended up hanging up on him. I just got off the phone with some brain injury place and she is going to try and get services in to help me and if my friend comes back they will make sure she gets support too.
