General I Know Not Everyone Believes In God, But This Is What Happened..

Once a week my mom calls me and shares verses she got while praying for our family. We share and pray together. My parents are some of the very few people who know about my husband's ptsd.

Well this past week, my mom called and said she was praying with two ladies from the church. She asked them to pray for us as H has been off work due to an accident at work. The two ladies know nothing of his ptsd and haven't seen H much either. They basically know next to nothing about him.

Anyway, while they were praying, one lady thought they should look up psalm 142. She didn't know what it said and after looking it up, didn't realize how relevant it is to us. (I can share if you'd like).

Then, the other lady said she saw a picture of H curled up in a ball, afraid of something to do with his past.

I found this encouraging. Even though I don't tell people about H's ptsd, I don't mind if God tells them. I don't think they realize how all of what they were praying was relevant...but that's ok. And it is also a reminder to me that God is really there...as sometimes it really doesn't feel that way.

Agree or disagree, believe or not, your choice, but I thought I'd share.

My personal Psalm is 103. I have it in a little prayer box and used to wear it around my neck for the first 2 years I was getting sober and diagnosed for my apnea and allergies. Thank you for sharing... maybe I should find my prayer box and wear it next week. I'd forgotten about it and it had been a great comfort to me.

No matter who your belief is it is nice to come here and not be judged. No funding for mental health here. Extreme anxiety and panic coming up on 3 yrs since place of employment was set on fire and 2 weeks later boss murdered. The creep is loose on the streets.

Someone mentioned Johnathan Livingston Seagull recently which takes me back to Richard Bach the author.
In his book "Illusions" he refers to the "IS" therefore not directing to any one belief! This is my favorite quote " You are led through your lifetime by the inner learning creature, the playful spiritual being that is your real self. Don't turn away from possible futures before you're certain you don't have anything to learn from them. You're always free to change your mind and choose a different future, or a different past." This might not sound healthy at first but I know for myself it has been a lifesaver. There are good people everywhere but there are also as many evil people. From my first post to here is a 40 year gap that I am working on! Thanks to all for being here. Whitney
