I Like Kate Middleton

She is becoming an iconic woman like it or not. People know who she is and people are listening when she talks. I see Kate Middleton as having the potential and energy to make a real spot for herself in the world. I can't see myself has ever having that kind of drive or power so I applauded her for her own and wish her the best.

But I guess my reasons for liking her is that I see very few woman my age to look up too, in any way. Britney Spears? Lady Gaga?

I bought a magazine today with her on the cover and it actually upset my husband. He couldn't understand why I would like her and why I would care about 'a bunch of royal people'. I don't care in the gossip sense I care becasue I feel she will change things.

I also like Malala Yousafzai. :)

I can see why your husband might not like her, but I'm a bit of a closet royalist!!! I think it would be a real shame to loose the royal family and like it or not she is the future. I just hope that the "institution" doesn't chew her up and spit her out - but I think they may have learned from their mistakes.

I have to say I feel awfully sorry for her as she is constantly being compared to Diana - and those are some shoes to have to fill!

I like Kate, I think she's a strong woman and will cope really well with the difficulties of being a royal and a celebrity.

I kind of don't like her. I find her dull.

I do have female role models I practically worship. I think as women you do look for examples or someone to explain to you what you're going through. Most of mine are musicians.

Also she makes me think about how some women are considered respectable enough to be respected and others are not. She would not have gained her position has she not been viewed as respectable and proper and I think it's interesting how that is determined in our society. And I think it's BS that she would not be in that position has she not been approved. For me that is not a very pleasant thing to think about.

I think she is a nice young lady and I'm pleased that William found happiness with her. She is not like Diana was, enough though I liked her as well. She had a rough time and married the wrong man.

Kate is level headed and will make a wonderful mother. I wish her all the best as the rest of her life will be spent in the spot light.

I watched Top Gear the other day and at the end of the show they said 'and we got through the show without mentioning the royal baby once!' It was so funny!

I don't mind the royals at all and think Kate is good for them and I can see why you would choose her as a role model Ayesha. She is a much better person to follow than say, some pop star druggie or actress.

I don't follow role models but I see no harm in it as long as it isn't obsessional.

Wow, this is also one of the reasons why I love this forum because I can meet people who has same favorite as me. I really like Kate Middleton especially her style. I had made 3 dresses similar to her dresses, of course the poor version of her dresses but her fashion inspired me so much. To me, she looks elegant.
