Hi all! I am Chantel. I am glad to be here. Well, I am a bit upset that I have a reason to be here, but since I do, I will use this and try and also help others! :)
I will start out by saying that I am a survivor of many types of abuse: mental/psychological, verbal, emotional, physical, and sexual abuse and r*pes all spanning over different times in my life.
As a result, I've been diagnosed with PTSD. I have other diagnoses and some 'possible' diagnoses... But that's beside the point. To try and cope with everything I have used self-injury, and alcohol and drugs. The self-injury began when I was 12 or 13 or maybe younger. The alcohol and drugs began when I was 15 or 16. I quit abusing drugs and alcohol when I was 16 after I OD'd but after a year or two I started drinking again. The self-injury never really fully stopped. But I'm doing a lot better now compared to when I was younger ('coping-wise') although I still slip up now and then. Now I write a lot and go to church and see my T.
Oh, and I'm 22 and I am a nurse. It's pretty great. So, I am trying to make the best of things. It's super stressful though and doesn't help the PTSD that's for sure. In fact, it increases my panic attacks pretty badly.
Anyway, I just wanted to pop in and say hello and thanks!
Oh, and sorry this ended up being so long. I sometimes get carried away. See y'all around!!!
Blessings to you all. ♥
Much love and support, your friend, Chantel ♥
Oh, and sorry if this was too forward.
