Was talking about the U.S. VA at yesterdays Vet Center session. I predict that our VA system is going to come to a grinding, screeching, moaning halt when our guys come back in force. They're already buckling at the knees with their employee-centric, union dominated system. With the Viet-era guys starting to apply in droves for Agent Orange illnesses, Gulf War I and the first wave of the new guys the system is already starting to pop fuses like an over lighted Christmas tree.
They're going to have to make a choice; does the VA exist for the benefit of it's employees or the Veterans? It wouldn't bother me at all if I never set foot on a VA campus again. But the way our system is set up I doubt very much they're gonna accept my private psycotherapy in order to continue my benefits. I'm already overdue for my VA shrink appointment, so it's gonna be interesting.
