Instagram Trolls - Do You Have Them?

This sites Instagram account is pretty new in the scheme of things, and has gained popularity quickly. In such a short time of a couple of months, there is already trolling happening. The all knowing opinions that are right and never wrong, the you're wrong and I'm right nonsense, the "this isn't true at all" nonsense. OMFG... delete, block. Fixed, not difficult. But annoying as f*ck.

Today I had the first person tell me that my Instagram account was their safe place. OMFG... seriously? Why the f*ck are you on the internet, and Instagram of all places, with some deluded belief that it is your safe place? Why is what I post dependant upon pleasing you? Oh wait... its not.

The shit people carry on with online just never ends. Don't get me wrong, still to this day it entertains me at times, reading some of the deluded nonsense I do... but then the flip side is that the person is either a troll or seriously ill and needs help beyond anything the Internet can give them, and they aren't getting that help. So sadness at times too.

Rant over... :shifty:

Do you have an Instagram account and does this happen to you? Have you resorted to unfollow and block as your first course of actions?

I don't know if Twitter counts, but I actively use Twitter and have a whole horde of volatile trolls who harass me on there. They're what we call "Kremlin trolls" -- paid by the Kremlin to attack journalists critical of Russia's current policies. But they make things personal, very personal. And they are coordinated, it's a whole troll army. I've had them post my photo and personal information along with claims that I "support terrorism". Nasty stuff. I can post something lighthearted, like a cat photo, and within minutes I'll have dozens of nasty comments from trolls calling me stupid. I used to immediately block them, but now I just ignore it. Because I've realized that they just look like lunatics. Apparently there are a lot of people who thrive on negative attention and get off on toxic comments on social media .... and the more obnoxious and nasty they are, the better they feel about themselves. I say let them exist in their own sick little world, without any attention from me. I do sometimes wonder how they behave in real life, and whether or not they act so disgusting and vile when they are face to face with other people ...

I think at some level, they have to be trolls in life too... because how can anyone with morals do just a job like that and it not affect them? I put them in the same basket as stock brokers... most of them are thieves and will tell you anything to get your money, knowing how reckless that money is going to be used. They don't care, as long as they get their cut.

f*cken trolls... funny and annoying all at the same time. I always expected that nonsense here, being more a forum community... but Instagram? Post picture, maybe short comment. Oh no... long winded blog comment full of everything personal to them, nothing beyond them, can't see the daylight for the clouds around them, yet can comment on Instagram whilst claiming to be sleeping on the street and begging for money. f*ck me... did a mobile phone really become priority in life whilst living on the street versus getting their arse off the street?

Not instagram specific, but yep, get trolls.

When I'm doing well, I thank all the Heavens I'm not like them and do my thing.
When I'm not doing well I usually snark it, and then do my own thing.

If they're in just for being creepers, have at it.
If it's threatening me or mine, that's whole another ballgame. Those do piss me off.

Im not on insta, but when I was drinking heavily, I loved getting on fb and stirring the trolls back.

I'd argue just for the hell of it, got a real kick out of bringing smartarses down.

Then one day my daughter said to me 'Mum you do realise that trolling the trolls makes you a troll too right?'

That shut me up hahaha

Being a troll can be therapeutic it seems. Hahaha

But, but, but....
Her safe space! :bawling:

I'll wager you're man-spreading right now, aren't you @anthony?

How dare you sit in a posture, that really is only meant to be inappropriate for a woman in a short skirt. Check your privilege sir.

Clearly this courageous heroine is struggling like all of us here in the Twittinstagramblerverse. I stubbed my toe this morning, it will years before I can walk past a piece of furniture without a support beaver to chew the edges off it.

Worse still, do you know how many private businesses claim to not know what a support beaver is?
I would march in protest, but I can't get around my loveseat.

Besides, how do you get food? From some mythical building that sells ingredients? That's witchcraft!

All normal sane people order out. Which means they need a phone. It has to be a smartphone too, otherwise it still outsmarts me and then I feel bad about myself. :sorry:

I would continue with the other allegations of wanton nononsensery against you. But, my support beaver is building a dam in the loo again. :troll:
