Glad to hear you're not so depressed. Indeed, you sound lively. Kudos.

Darkhorse... I have lost a stepson to murder. He was killed because he was going to report his father to the police for sexually abusing him, his younger sister of two years and then my children who were 3 and 4. He was a beautiful, gentle young man who died a month shy of his 19th birthday. I have always felt responsible for his death as I was able to get my girls away from their father with the help of police...but because he was 18 ( and had been threatened by his father, which we only found out later) he was left with this man who later killed him. My children and I have never gotten over it... and grieve for him still. We were not present when he died but were in a woman's abuse shelter .
We had to go to court as well which is a nightmare for victims.
Sending you healing thoughts and prayers

Darkhorse, that sounds like a good idea. I have shaking problems sometimes, so I'll try that as well, when I find the right Psychologist. You can always 'copy' and 'paste' the text into a 'Word' document so you don't have to wait to retreive it. Maybe use dot points as well, if you have trouble speaking about it. Give speaking about it a go, but if you can't, perhaps hand the print-out to the therapist and gesture to them to read it. You are very brave for speaking of your ordeal, and for getting that "Man" in gaol. You are also brave for taking the steps to recover.

You are an inspiration! I cannot relate to what you experienced, but it appears that others here do relate to what happened. I can only relate in that we both have PTSD. I'm probably not going to be much use to you, but I'm definately cheering for you with the progress in the healing process - because you are already doing wuite well. I think this forum is the right place for you to be, not only because you'll find a lot of support here, but you've already inspired many of us.

Best wishes! Take care!

S.

Hello Darkhorse

For this to have happened 7 years back and you're only now going into therapy sounds like you struggled on your own far too long.
When I was havin therapy I would take in notes or even little sketches to help try explain things I struggled to find words for ,and to remember things that came between sessions.
You do sound like a decent bloke.

Good luck

Jesta (also from UK)
